Vaha ("we", "our", or "the app") is an AI-powered calorie tracking application. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
1. Data We Collect
- Account information: Email address and display name when you sign in with Apple or Google.
- Health data: Weight, calorie intake, and macronutrient data you enter or sync from Apple Health. This data is stored locally on your device and optionally backed up to your private Firebase account.
- Photos: Food photos you take are processed by AI to estimate nutritional content. Photos are sent to the AI service for analysis and are not stored on our servers.
- Device information: We may collect anonymous crash reports and basic analytics to improve the app.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To provide calorie tracking and nutritional analysis features.
- To generate personalized AI-based nutrition estimates.
- To sync and back up your data across devices (if enabled).
- To send local push notifications (meal and weight reminders) if you opt in.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties. Food photos are sent to Google Gemini AI solely for nutritional analysis. RevenueCat processes subscription transactions — see their privacy policy.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored locally on your device using encrypted storage. If you enable cloud backup, data is stored in your private Firebase account protected by authentication. We use industry-standard security measures.
5. Apple Health
Vaha can read and write weight data to Apple Health with your explicit permission. Health data is never shared with third parties or used for advertising.
6. Your Rights
You can delete all your data at any time by deleting your account in the app profile or by uninstalling the app. You can also request data deletion by contacting us.
7. Children
Vaha is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this URL.
